December 2, 2007Undecorated Atlas C-420 now just out of the shop and painted as C-420 D&H 408. Will join the operating roster today.
November 2007Last Sunday November 18, my friend and fellow Model Railroad Operator Chris Lyon painted the 27ft Tahawus N.Y. backdrop where the National Lead Titanium Mine is located on my D&H Adirondack Branch. Chris is a member of my operating crew and has been mentoring me in backdrop painting. Although I cannot claim to be nearly as talented as he is, I was able to paint some of the backdrops around the older sections of the layout thanks to his teachings. A while ago he had offered to paint the backdrops in the newly expanded portion of the layout located around the family room. He already had completed the backdrop behind the bridge scene in the Adirondack Park corner of the room and he had planned to paint the Tahawus wall this November. The project is now completed and as you will see through the pictures it is an astounding success. Chris has his own operating layout the Lyon Valley Northern and you can visit his Blog at www.lyonvalleynorthern.blogspot.com
